The Proposal

My family and friends gathered in my home to eat turkey and dressing and play games on July 28,2005. Since we met on a weekly basis, I was not suspicious of our activity. After dinner, we played a game of Apples to Apples. In this game each player is given seven red cards. Each red card contains a noun, anything from Batman to Flying Monkeys. Each player takes a turn as the judge. The judge places a green card which posesses an adjective, such as shy or fabulous, in the center of the table. Each player then selects a red card and places it face down by the green card.
The judge then picks the red card they feel matches the green the best. If your card is picked, you keep the green card. The person to get the most green cards wins. Everyone present Michelle, Chris, Lauren, Julie, Jacqui, my mother and father, all knew what Brent had planned. Brent ordered red cards to create his own card. During the second game, while I was the judge, h e played the card he had created. He had also stacked the green cards so I would play one of his choosing.
I placed the word unforgettable on the table, Brent then played his created red card. Julie stacked his card on the top so that, when flipped over, it would be the final card I saw. As I reached for the red cards, I noticed Brent on the ground picking up his cards. I asked if he needed any assistance, he told me he was ok. I looked through the cards and saw a card with my name on it. I looked closer and realized it said, "Jenn Will U Marry Me?" I gasped, covered my mouth and turned to him. He was on one knee with a ring in his hand. I teared up and said yes as he was asking me to marry him.
He had fabulously choosen to propose with my family and friends near, my brother (who is attending school in Florida) was even on speaker phone. I know I'm a lucky gal to have such a wonderful fella.
